Established as a seaport in 1722, Beaufort is North Carolina's third oldest town. This town is "rich" in history and frequented by visitors throughout the year.  The historic homes of Beaufort have been preserved well throughout the years. The Beaufort waterfront is lined with beautiful homes, places to dine and shop, and the popular Maritime Museum.
